Lebanon

Lebanon

Lebanon is one of the smallest countries in the world and its sits in the heart of the Middle East. In addition, it is a beautiful country and it has many green spaces and amazing beaches that attract the tourists. It is adjacent many countries such as Syria, Turkey, Jordan and Israel. However, the population in the Lebanon consists of 17 religions for example Muslims and Christian and it is only country in the Middle East where there is almost an equal number of Muslims and Christians. It has faced many wars such as against Israel and between Muslims and Christian (civil wars). Now I am going to write modern history and Lebanon now and what happened in each period.

Lebanon faced many wars that lead to damage and destroy in everything in it for instance the economy, homes and killed the citizens. There many reasons helped for the wars. After Lebanon gained independence from France in 1943 after long years of occupancy, that event contributed to increased tensions between Muslims and Christians. However, the tensions reach of a peak in 1975 when members of radical Christian group, the phalange, attacked and killed a bus full of Palestinians in downtown Beirut. After that, the trust between followers of two the religions are breakdown that helped to get war between them. In 1982, Israel invaded Lebanon and his aim was removing the Palestinians armed from Lebanon. After these difficult periods, the Lebanon got peace between 1989 to 1990. The results were horrible between 150,000 to 200,000 people died and 300,000 wounded. After that, all the people cooperated to rebuild Lebanon.

Although, nowadays Lebanon has a hard period, the problems are increasing between Muslims and Christians and the explosives in Lebanon are increasing and the results are a lot of citizens died and political men’s. However, groups of terrorists are appearing in Lebanon and that causes dangerous problems between Muslims and Christians. Finally, Lebanon stills without president.
